My husband and I started shopping at Aldi last year when we realized that our spending was out of control. We used to spend nearly $100 per week on groceries, and we don't even have any kids! When we switched to Aldi, the cost of our groceries went down to about $50 a week. Shockingly, whenever we shop, we only end up paying more than three dollars for one or two items! Most things in the store are between one and three dollars!

If you are considering going into Aldi but haven't yet because you think it's beneath you, swallow your pride because you are really missing out. Don't allow the pretty packaging at your regular grocery store seduce you into thinking that their products are somehow better. When you bag your first cart of groceries yourself, with reusable bags you brought with you, and get your quarter back from your shopping cart, you will feel a huge weight lifted from your shoulders. It is so rewarding to walk out of that store with everything you need for the week at half the price.

Shopping at Aldi has given me more than great savings. It has given me financial peace of mind.

I love Aldi's. I started shopping there 5 years ago when I lost my job. Honestly it took some adjustment and pride swallowing. Now we love Aldi's and hate it when we don't plan and have to buy things at the normal grocery stores.

Our favorite family quote from our son is "I don't want generic Oreos I want good Aldi Oreos"

I still have many friends who will not walk into the store but they are happy to eat the food at my house and I feel for them missing out on the deals.

Aldi is great! Not only do I save a great deal of money but many of the items are better than the name brand items I used to purchase. My kids love the cereals and so do I. Thanks to Aldi I was able to cut my food budget by at least $100.00 a month. If you haven't tried it you definitely should!

I've been shopping at Aldi's for years. Most things are a real bargain. There have been a few canned or frozen products I tried that I didn't particularly like but all the basics are MUCH cheaper than local chain stores and just as good (I bought a gal of milk and doz eggs yesterday for $3.08 - about $1.50 less than other grocery stores). They have really expanded their line of products in the last year or 2 to include more name brands but I still buy the Aldi brands to save money.

I am also a fan of Dollar Tree for cleaning products, shampoo, toothbrushes, gift bags, some toys etc. Not everything is a bargain at $1 but lots of stuff is. At Dollar Tree some things are less than $1 but nothing is every more.

So I was reluctant for years of my mom's suggestion of this store. I would say "isn't that the store with all the generic brands". Well, it is...sort of. Aldi's brands. That are just as good as name brands and better than many generic grocery store brands I have tried. It saves more money than you can imagine. Far exceeded my expectations!

Love The Big A, as we call it!

Both of our kids were born outside Chicago (near Aldi's US headquarters) 10+ years ago. It was a blessing to stumble on Aldi's after our first was born and we often said we would not have been able to afford to have a second child without Aldi's!

Hooray for The Big A!

PS: It doesn't hurt that it keeps me out of Walmart, which in itself saves us $$.
