I've only used Priceline a couple of times. My wife and I have saved up 50% on a 3-4 star Suite in Asheville by bidding and asking for a room upgrade. But recently we were able to get roundtrip tickets to Hawaii for $480/person. Which is nearly a $120 savings per ticket over internet fares!! They even let you switch your seats online from your itenirary page so I was able to give her the window. I can't comment on hotels in Hawaii because we are staying with family but I will be using priceline for a car rental for sure. And we will definitely be bidding on all flights from now on. Aloha and here we come!!

As long as there has been no bid accepted there will be no charge to your credit card.

The best deals are always at places that are off their peak times. So go to the beach in March and mountains during the summer. If you are going to a city for the weekend stay at a hotel that is near the airport. There are very few business travelers on weekends so those hotels run great deals during that "off peak" time.

My best deals in the last year are: $30 per night 3 stars in Atlanta, $40 per night 3 stars in Columbia, SC, $60 per night 5 star resort Hilton Head, SC.

So, your card will not be charged until they actually accept a bid? For example, if I go through 2-3 times and decide, "oh nevermind", Can I get out of the bidding without being charged?
