I am excited about the opportunity to invest in church planters as part of the ConnectNC Church Planters Leadership Network in November.  This network kicks off on August 19th and meets monthly for six consecutive months.  If you are church planter in the triad and triangle areas, I highly recommend that you participate in this learning opportunity.

There are even scholarships available:

• The NC Baptist State Convention is offering $250 scholarships to the first 20 church planters. Cost with scholarship is only $250
• The Piedmont Baptist Association is also offering $125 scholarships to the first 20 PBA church planters
• Both scholarships are available (in couponing world we call this “stacking” coupons) if a church planter is part of both organizations

I am excited about the upcoming Stewardship Challenge Conference being hosted by Mountain Lake Church in Cumming, GA (Pastor Shaun Lovejoy) for the following reasons.

• Dr. John Maxwell will be speaking – twice. There is a reason why people have purchased more than 18,000,000 books – this man is extremely gifted in communicating and equipping leaders.  Stewardship is one of his passions.
• Pastor Shaun Lovejoy will be speaking. He planted Mountain Lake Church and also leads ChurchPlanters.com – an organization dedicated to equipping those who are considering launching or have already launched a church – and guess what?  One of the biggest challenges faced by young churches is financial need and stewardship.  I PROMISE YOU, you will learn a lot from Shaun.
• I have the honor of talking about equipping people to win with their money. I know it may surprise you, but I am passionate about helping people get their money in order so that they can accomplish far more than they ever thought possible.  I relish every single opportunity that I have to share on this topic!

I was excited to be able to speak to a class at Tri-County Technical College last week and a class at Westside High School the week before!  I used materials from my latest book, What Everyone Should Know About Money Before They Enter The Real World.  It is our team’s passion to equip young people with practical tools and training that allows them to maximize their financial potential and avoid making financial mistakes.  At Westside, I was also able to talk about the importance of continual learning.  It was a joy to be able to speak to such a great group of young people!

The I Was Broke. Now I’m Not. team had a GREAT time this weekend at Colwood Church (Pastor Jonathan Herron) in Caro, MI!  We were able to train four financial coaches/counselors, speak during both morning services, teach the Financial Learning Experience to the adults and What Everyone Should Know About Money Before They Enter THE REAL WORLD to the youth.  What an amazing response we had!  I am so dumbfounded that we get to do this life-changing work for a living!!!
