John Maxwell & Stewardship Challenge Conference

On August 18 and 20, I had the privilege and honor of speaking along with Dr. John Maxwell, Pastor Brian Tome, and Pastor Steven Furtick at the Stewardship Challenge Conferences held in Cincinnati, OH and Charlotte, NC.

On October 15th and November 9th, two more of these outstanding conferences will be happening.  If you are in church leadership or are leading stewardship for your church, this is one event you do not want to miss.  I PROMISE that you will be challenged AND equipped to address stewardship challenges in new and effective ways!

On October 15th, the Stewardship Challenge will be in ORLANDO, Florida!

On November 9th, we will be in BALTIMORE, Maryland!

At each event, Dr. John Maxwell, Dr. Rick Campbell, and I will be speaking.  In Orlando, Pastor Tom Mullins will be the guest speaker.  In Baltimore, Bishop Walter Thomas will be the guest speaker.

Extreme Couponing Workshop: WED and THUR

I am PUMPED about the Extreme Couponing Workshop being taught Wednesday and Thursday (9/16 and 9/17) by Jenny from SouthernSavers.com!

The Wednesday night class (at the Anderson Public Library) sold out (200 people!) so we opened a Thursday class.  It is almost full.  You can still sign up HERE.

SouthernSavers.com Coupon Workshop Coming To Anderson SC

I am excited to announce that Jenny, the founder of SouthernSavers.com, will be presenting her Extreme Couponing 101 workshop in Anderson, SC!

The event will take place at the Anderson County Library on September 16 and begins at 6:00PM.  Cost is $10 (materials fee).

This is a 2-hour long class teaching you to be a true couponer. 

It's not just about cutting and handing over coupons!  Learn how to use coupons to save hundreds of dollars a month on all of your grocery, household and personal care items.

Learning From John Maxwell Brian Tome and Rick Campbell

Today, I had the unbelievable privilege to speak at the Stewardship Challenge hosted by Crossroads Church (Pastor Brian Tome).  I was the mule invited to the Kentucky Derby.  The line-up was:

  • Rick Campbell (Injoy Stewardship Solutions)
  • John Maxwell (EQUIP, Author, Leader's Leader, INJOY, 16,000,000 books sold (true statement))
  • Brian Tome (Pastor of Crossroads - unbelievable church, author, passionate leader, influencer)
  • Me.

So what did I do?  I took advantage of the opportunity to LEARN!  I LOVE LEARNING!  I scribbled notes so fast that the pen made a huge dent in the side of my finger (has that ever happened to you? - it is weird!).

Here are some outstanding nuggets I learned from John:

  • Am I willing to pay the price for my dream?
  • In the beginning, dreams are free.  That's why we love them so much!
  • The only way some people could get excited is if they could get away from themselves.
  • John confirmed his retirement plans: when he dies
  • When he stopped pursuing vision, the resources stopped.

Here are some outstanding nuggets I learned from Brian:

  • Vision is recession-proof!
  • Develop a culture.  Don't raise a budget.
  • Passionate about FREE.  Give away everything.  (Crossroads has their atrium open all day long with free wi-fi, fountain drinks, coffee, and other outstanding amenities)

Here are some oustanding nuggets I learned from Rick:

  • Be strong and courageous
  • Be strong and very courageous
  • I will share the rest in a later post - awesome devotional to start the day

I am FIRED UP about the next week of the crusade!  I have been able to take the last several weeks to rest and write the personal finance book for young people.  Now it is time to hit the road again and share on this topic that I am so passionate about!

The Sticks Conference: May 12-13

I am PUMPED to be speaking during a breakout session of The Sticks Conference May 12 and 13 in Canton, Georgia.

Here are the reasons I am FIRED UP about (and why you should attend) The Sticks Conference:

  • Gary Lamb, Perry Noble, Tony Morgan, Greg Oraham, Charles Hill, and Ed Stetzer are speaking during the main sessions.  I can guarantee that these guys will be focused on providing PRACTICAL teaching.
  • It is being hosted by Revolution Church.  I have been to this church twice, and I read Gary Lamb's blog every day.  Why?  Because they are impacting their community in huge ways, and incredible life change is happening.  I LOVE life-changing work!
  • The Revolution Band is leading worship.  I said it HERE, I will say it again:  Their band is INCREDIBLE!  The quality of their band and sound in a pack-in, pack-out setting is the best I have ever heard.
  • It is focused on churches out in the sticks.  Truth is that most churches are out in the sticks and all of them operate on limited budgets.  This conference is focused on equipping these ministries to maximize their impact on their communities.
