2009 Q1 Event Schedule

I am PUMPED about 2009!  This crusade takes tons of people to make it work, and I am so honored that so many of you have participated in or volunteered to serve at one our events.

Here are the cities that the crusade will be visiting in the first three months of 2009.

  • January 17 & 18 Houston, TX
  • January 24 & 25 Philadelphia, PA (Philly area)
  • January 28 Ottumwa, IA (Des Moines area)
  • January 31 & February 1 Cheyenne, WY
  • February 7 & 8 Dallas, TX
  • February 22 Canton, GA (Atlanta area)
  • March 7 & 8 Acworth, GA (Atlanta area)
  • March 12 & 15 Anderson, SC
  • March 22 Lakeland, FL  (Tampa area)

I am also stoked to see that the crusade will be traveling in ways that do not require me to travel!  The I Was Broke. Now I'm Not. Group Study is being implemented into small groups and medium size groups in dozens of churches.

That PUMPS ME UP!  I am so honored that I get to serve so many people, churches, and businesses and be a part of life changing work.

I am PUMPED about the December events that the IWBNIN Team has planned.

This will be the first time that the crusade will venture into the great city of Chicago!

I can not believe what is happening with this crusade!  I am continually blown away by the blessings God has poured out on this thing.

Tomorrow I will be announcing some of the cities that the crusade will travel to in the first quarter of 2009.  Here's a hint ...  It will probably travel to a city near you.

Training Counselors Today!

Today is a FANTASTIC day!  I get to train volunteer financial counselors at NewSpring Church.  This training is called the Financial Counseling Experience, and I am PUMPED.

Here are some key reasons I am excited about the Financial Counseling Experience:

  • There will be eight new f/c for NewSpring!  NewSpring is growing (in size AND locations).  This makes it vitally important that we continue to grow our volunteer f/c team!
  • There will be eight new f/c for other churches!  I love being able to train folks from other churches because most of them are going home to their church and starting their own financial counseling ministry.  It is awesome that this crusade gets to be a part of that!
  • The Saving Freak is assisting with the training!  The Saving Freak keeps showing up at all of my events and is one of our most active volunteer financial counselors.  He is passionate about helping equip others to go impact their communities.
  • We will be challenged.  Every time that we train financial counselors, they seem to ask super great questions that challenge us.  Being challenged means that there is a great chance that we will learn new things that we can implement in our own financial counseling ministry at NewSpring!

I am PUMPED about the upcoming Financial Counseling Experience being held at NewSpring Church's Anderson Campus on Saturday, November 22!

If you are PASSIONATE about helping others win with their finances and want to start a financial counseling ministry at your church or organization, this is a great place to start.

In the Financial Counseling Experience, I will be teaching the exact process that we use here at NewSpring to provide FREE one-on-one financial counseling for over 500 people each year.

It is our goal to accomplish the following:

  • You are equipped to begin a financial counseling ministry at your church or organization
  • You are able to network with folks who share this same passion to help people become debt free and financially free
  • You are able to have hands-on experience with the process and the tools

Financial Counselor Training – November 22, 2008!

I am PUMPED to announce that the next Financial Counseling Experience will take place from 9:00AM - 4:00PM on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at NewSpring Church's Anderson Campus in Anderson, SC!

I will be training NewSpring's next round of volunteer financial counselors as well as a host of folks from other churches and organizations who have a heart for helping others win with their money.

The Financial Counseling Experience includes:

  • Participating in a Financial Learning Experience
  • Learn the process used to establish appointments
  • Learn the process used to ensure that counselees show up prepared and ready for a life-changing meeting
  • Learn the process used during the appointment to ensure a consistent counseling experience
  • Apply real-life examples in hands-on activities - there is nothing like practical application
  • Review real-life scenarios in a "what would you do?" shared discussion
  • Be a part of a network of people who are all starting their own financial counseling ministry
  • Be challenged to take the next step and begin a financial counseling ministry at your church!

With the slumping economy, this is THE TIME that The Church should stand up and provide solutions.  Providing FREE one-on-one financial counseling is an incredible way to impact one's community in a powerful manner!  Those who attend the FCE will leave inspired, motivated, and equipped to go back to their community and impact it one life at a time.

Financial Counselor Training

I am planning the next Financial Counseling Experience, and this week I will be finalizing the next training date.

The Financial Counseling Experience is a one-day experience where I teach the exact process that we use at NewSpring Church to provide one-on-one financial counseling FREE to over 500 people each year.

The great thing is that we are now able to open up the FCE to others who are interested in starting financial counseling ministries at their church or business.  In fact, we had 31 people from 14 churches at the last FCE!

Let me ask some questions:

  • Have you won with your money?
  • Do you love helping others put together plans that help them win with money?
  • Are you passionate about reaching your community in a real and tangible way?
  • Do you want to help start a financial counseling ministry?

If so, then the Financial Counseling Experience is a great place to get it started!

Through the FCE, you will:

  • Participate in a Financial Learning Experience
